The candidate must be a college or university student majoring in architecture, interior design, museum studies, or a related field, with a minimum GPA of 2.8. They should have proficiency in CAD or Vectorworks, Rhino, and Adobe Suite, along with excellent model making and technical drawing skills. Additionally, they should possess a general understanding of construction technologies.

The Exhibition Design Intern will support designers by creating 2D and 3D drawings, renderings, and presentations, as well as producing construction drawings and preparing scale models and mock-ups for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' exhibitions.

Exhibition Design Intern, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising) 

The Design Intern (Summer 2024) position at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences requires undergraduate or graduate students pursuing Graphic Design or related fields with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and excellent organizational skills are a must, along with strong creative thinking and collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented candidates committed to producing high-quality work will thrive in this role. Pre-press experience is a plus.

The design intern will collaborate with the team, create visually appealing graphics, assist in project management, and communicate with cross-functional teams at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Design Intern, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising)

The candidate must be enrolled in an accredited imaging science, color science, engineering, computer science, photography, or film university degree program with a minimum 2.8 GPA. They should have knowledge and interest in motion picture technology, color science, and image engineering, as well as understanding of basic motion picture and video image capture and processing workflows. Proficiency in programming languages, experience with creative tools packages, and excellent communication and organizational skills are also required.

The Imaging Science intern will collaborate with the director and senior engineer to design and execute color-related experiments and assist in developing image-processing code.

<ul><li>The Science and Technology Council is one of the departments of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences which serves the various needs of the industry’s science and technology community. It promotes cooperation among divergent technological interests, provides a forum for the exchange of information, fosters educational activities, and works to preserve the history of the science and technology of motion pictures. One of the Council’s projects is the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES), a free, open, device-independent color management and image interchange system.</li><li>The intern will have the opportunity to interact with ACES working groups focused on the development of future version of the ACES system.</li><li>The intern will conduct experiments, analyze data, and write prototyping code.</li></ul>

Candidates must be enrolled in an ALA-accredited Master’s degree program in library and information science, have a minimum GPA of 2.8, possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and have knowledge of cataloging, archival practices, preservation standards, metadata standards, content and digital asset management systems, and film history. Effective communication skills are also required.

The Collections Management and Cataloging Intern will use critical thinking skills to organize and manage information resources, retrieve information from various sources, and incorporate emerging technologies into professional practice at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The&nbsp;internship&nbsp;also support and perform clerical tasks that support the life cycle of library materials managed by the technical services department.</li><li>Internship&nbsp;goals include: proficiency cataloging in CONTENTdm and Rosebud; digitizing materials according to institutional standards; creating metadata templates; importing and editing records; quality control of records based on institutional style guides and standards. Under supervision, the interns will learn all functional aspects of Academy systems and have a theoretical and practical understanding of their capabilities. The interns will be competent and confident enough to work independently, assessing materials, making descriptive decisions and completing all aspects of cataloging process by the termination of their&nbsp;internships.</li></ul>

Collections Management and Cataloging Internship, Summer 2024 (Gold Rising) 

Undergraduate or community college student in good academic standing, with a minimum 2.8 GPA. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. Strong communication and problem-solving skills required. Knowledge of American film history and coursework in related fields preferred. Must be able to lift and move moderately heavy boxes. Ability to work on-site in Beverly Hills.

The Photograph Archive Processing Intern at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be responsible for organizing and rehousing a designated collection, creating inventory records, conducting research on names and titles, and utilizing various databases as necessary.
