  This position emphasizes both grant writing and grant management; successful candidates will have a strong understanding and skill set in crafting compelling grant proposals and overseeing the administration of awarded funds. Successful candidates will also ensure successful grant acquisition, effective fund utilization and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
 
 
 
  Work Locations: Downtown Detention Center - 490 W. Colfax Ave, and County Jail, and the County Jail - 10500 Smith Road
 
 
  Work Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
 
 
   *Flexible schedule and hybrid options available after completion of probationary period*
 
 
 
  Consistent with City and County of Denver practice for civilian employees, all Programs Team staff are responsible for paying their own parking at the Downtown Detention Center.
 
 
 
  This position will report to one of the teams Program Managers but will work closely and in collaboration with the overall Programs Team.
 
 
  Specifically, the Housing Coordinators duties will include:
 
 
  
   
    Assists with the program development, coordination, and implementation of access to housing resources to include researching best practices.
   
  
   
    Create new contracts, scopes of work that align with contracts, submit, and review reports, monitor contract compliance, provide follow-up support to contracted vendors.
   
  
   
    Support with budget oversight, ensure spend down is accurate and occurring in appropriate amount of time.
   
  
   
    Assist with data analysis, outreach contracts, identify gaps in services, and needs for further development or investment and collaborations to improve outcomes to housing.
   
  
   
    Recruit and maintain and inventory of vendors to support sober living, shelter, rental assistance, assistant living, and other housing resources.
   
  
   
    Work collaboratively with the Case Managers, internal and external stakeholders to provide updated available housing resources, criteria, and referral processes.
   
  
   
    Identify new and/or support current collaborations task forces, organizations and community-based agencies working to address housing efforts.
   
  
   
    Other duties as assigned.
   
 
 
 
  Our ideal candidate will have:
 
 
  
   
    A Master's degree in an associated field (social work, psychology, criminology, sociology, human services, etc.), or a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in related work as outlined above
   
  
   
    Experience working in a large jail setting or within the Criminal Justice System
   
  
   
    Microsoft Excel and Word skills
   
  
   
    Minimum of 1 -3 years’ experience working within a grant writing or management space
   
  
   
    Experience working within a non-profit or community-engagement work.
   
  
   
    Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams or community coalition teams.
   
  
   
    Experience with reporting on data for grants, data collection, coordination, and strategic planning
   
  
   
    Be bilingual - Spanish preferred.
   
  
   
    Strong presentation, negotiation, and collaboration skills
   
  
   
    Strong understanding and advocacy for incarcerated and justice involved individuals.
   
 
 
 
  Below are the minimum requirements used to determine eligibility for this position:
 
 
  
   
    Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Management, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, or a related field.
   
  
   
    Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of professional or technical level experience planning the administrative aspects of a program(s) or training program participants and/or volunteers. (Some positions may require experience in a specific program area.)
   
  
   
    Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
   
  
   
    Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
   
  
   
    License/Certifications: By position, requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or by the completion of probation.
   
  
   
    Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
