The Opportunity…<ul><li> EDF has a number of opportunities for Safety Case Engineers across all of our licensees. These include roles within our Nuclear Operations business, supporting our generating and defueling power stations, as well as our Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C businesses, where we’re building a new generation of nuclear power stations.</li><li> Join our Nuclear Operations team and support the continued safe generation at our existing PWR and AGR fleet of power stations. Projects are centred on safety cases to optimise and extend generating lives, driving towards Net Zero, with opportunities in both reactor and fuel route safety case areas. When completed, each of these projects will provide dependable electricity to 6million homes over 60 years which, along with renewables, will drive Britain towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.</li></ul> What you’ll be doing…<ul><li>The Design Authority (DA), as part of the licensee organisation, is responsible for developing the nuclear safety case and maintaining its integrity throughout the full lifecycle of the nuclear power plant.</li><li> If you join as a Safety Case Engineer working in a new build Design Authority (HPC or SZC), you will play an important role in the development and maintenance of the safety case. You will provide technical leadership in resolving challenging issues to support the construction, commissioning and the safe operation of the Nuclear Power Plant. You will have opportunities to gain experience and work in a variety of different aspects of the safety case from developing the main Safety Report through to safety justifications to support modifications. In your role you will be supported by and need to engage with a variety of disciplines within the wider organisation, while also working with OEM designers/suppliers and internal/external regulators.</li><li> Alternatively, if you join our Nuclear Operations business safety case engineers are responsible for maintenance of the safety cases supporting normal operations and fault scenarios during the generation and defueling phases of operation. You will provide technical leadership to define and deliver safety case requirements to ensure compliance within a regulated environment.  Location: Our offices are located in Gloucester, Bristol, London and Glasgow, with options for base location dependent on role. Flexible and blended working arrangements are also available.
 Gloucester is a base location for all licensees. Bristol is also a base location for Hinkley Point C. London is also a base location for Sizewell C. Glasgow is also a base location for EDF Nuclear Operations.
 Employment type: Permanent
 Employment basis: Full time/Part time. Our teams are set up to work flexibly. We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can adopt a blended working arrangement.
 Salary: We offer competitive packages with salaries starting from £47,700 depending on experience, plus a market-leading pension scheme and a wider range of other benefits. Specific contract details vary between our different licensee contract terms and conditions.
