About the role




The role of the technology team at Elder is to set Elder apart from the rest - our platform is the engine that powers the rest of the business. We build web applications that connect families and carers with each other and Elder. We use data, algorithms, and machine learning to find the right carer to look after each of our customers. In 2024, we’ll continue our journey towards becoming the UK’s leading live-in care provider and do even more to deliver a best-in-class service.




We’re currently looking for a talented front-end engineer to join the team. You’ll be a part of our larger engineering team, working with other front-end and back-end developers to develop new functionality across Elder’s web portals used by the families that we look after and carers who work with us. We use React, Next.js and Typescript across our platforms and primarily communicate with our backend systems over REST.




We encourage collaboration and our engineers are involved in the full development lifecycle, from the brainstorming of what’s possible to see how the products are being used by our end users. This is a great opportunity for a web developer who is keen to build products with modern technologies and wants to do more than just work off fully-formed tickets.




What you’ll be responsible for




 * Working closely with product managers, UX designers, and the wider team to shape technology-powered solutions
 * Close collaboration within the front-end engineering team, in code reviews, pair programming, knowledge-sharing sessions and other activities to maintain best practices and consistency across the platform
 * Implementing, testing, and releasing new functionality across Elder’s web applications
 * Collaborating with back-end engineers in building new APIs and data contracts to support new functionality




Requirements




 * Strong familiarity with the JavaScript ecosystem, TypeScript and modern web technologies
 * Experience building Single Page Applications with React
 * Experience working with Next.js
 * An active interest in staying up-to-date with new technology, new frameworks, new languages and other developments
 * A passion for working collaboratively to solve meaningful real-world problems with technology, not just writing code!
 * Nice to have: Experience with react-query, Playwright, Capacitor or CircleCI

Frontend Developer

You must be proficient in CRM platforms, have strong analytical skills, work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, adapt quickly to change, and be an expert in communication strategies. Experience with Salesforce and CMS systems is a plus.

This position requires a data-conscious, strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build and maintain media relationships and enhance brand communications.Key Responsibilities:Digital PR:Develop and implement digital PR strategies to enhance Elder's online presence and grow our Earned media reach.Identify and engage with key opinion leaders within the contextually relevant sectors that would enhance Elder’s authority in this space.Monitor and analyse PR performance metrics to optimise future campaigns.Brand Communications:Craft compelling content to shape Elder's brand communications across our website, paid and organic social media, press and all other earned media touchpointsEnsure all brand communications are consistent with Elder’s voice and values.Collaborate with the internal squads to integrate brand messaging across all marketing channels.Work with content producers (internally and externally) to ensure consistency in our brand messagingStorytelling:Develop and execute storytelling strategies that resonate with our audience across organic channels.Create and manage content calendars to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.Utilize data and insights to refine and improve our storytelling approach.PR & Earned Media:Build and maintain strategic media relationships to increase Elder’s visibility.Develop and pitch stories to relevant media outlets to drive traffic and brand awareness.Prepare press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.Develop strategies to grow earned media presence and coverage.Monitor media coverage and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns.Leverage industry trends and news to position Elder as a thought leader in the sector.Requirements:Minimum of 5 years of experience in PR, with a strong focus on digital PR, brand communications and Earned mediaProven track record of successfully managing PR campaigns and securing media coverage.Excellent command of English - written and verbal communication skills.Strong understanding of social media platforms and their role in PR and brand communications.Ability to think creatively and strategically.Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in PR and social media monitoring tools.Preferred Experience / Nice to have:Experience in the health or elder care industry.Established a network of media contacts.Experience with crisis communications.Benefits:We’re a service business, and we know that without the best people, we cannot build the best company, which is why we treat our team very well.
