Nebraska Public Power District is a public corporation and political subdivision of the state of Nebraska. We operate an integrated electric utility system including generation, transmission, and distribution facilities. We work in partnership with other utilities, businesses, and community leaders to serve more than 530,000 Nebraskans with retail or wholesale electric power and energy-related services. As a public power utility, we are governed by an 11-member Board of Directors, popularly elected from within our chartered territory which includes all or parts of 84 of Nebraska's 93 counties.

Retirement Savings
NPPD employees may participate in two retirement plan options – a 401(k) plan and a 457(b) plan. Both plans allow for pre-tax or Roth contributions. After the first six months of employment, the 401(k) plan includes a generous matching contribution from NPPD.
