You must be enrolled in a Civil or Architectural Engineering program at an ABET accredited college with coursework in structural analysis, concrete & steel design, and Revit experience.

You will assist in developing structural drawings, learn engineering software, work on real projects with a mentor, and participate in site visits and training sessions.

The Schaefer internship and co-op program provides opportunities for students to apply classroom methodology to hands-on modeling and design. The student’s Schaefer advisor, mentor and the assigned project team coordinate to ensure the learning experience is relevant and challenging. Successful internships and co-op rotations may lead to full-time employment, as evidenced by our present staff of dedicated and talented structural engineers and modelers, many of whom were students here themselves.Scope of Work:<ul><li>Develop an understanding of load path and simple statics within basic structures.</li><li>Work to create structural drawings from engineering designs to markups.</li><li>Work closely with an assigned mentor who provides hands on support and guidance while working through real projects.</li><li>Learn engineering software such as Revit and RAM Structural Systems for application on a variety of challenging projects.</li><li>Participate in site visits and in-house training sessions with other engineers.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Enrolled in Civil or Architectural Engineering program at an ABET accredited college.</li><li>Preferred coursework covering topics such as structural analysis, loads and systems or equivalent, concrete design, and structural steel design.</li><li>Experience in Revit is a plus.</li></ul>

You must be a Civil or Architectural Engineering student with coursework in structural analysis, concrete + steel design. Revit experience is a plus. Willingness to work in office + field settings, with possible travel + overtime. Ability to access construction sites is a must.

You will develop structural drawings from engineering designs, learn software applications, work closely with a mentor, participate in site visits, and gain hands-on experience in structural engineering.

Structural Engineer Intern or Co-Op

The candidate must have a BS in engineering (MS preferred) along with BIM (Revit) experience, structural engineering internship or co-op experience, and must be an Engineer in Training (EIT).

The candidate will be responsible for designing and detailing efficient structures, acting as the project engineer on multiple projects, developing client relationships, and managing project costs through effective planning and prioritization.
