Future Black Leaders Programme 2025

• McKinsey United Kingdom and Ireland invite you to apply to our Future Black Leaders Mentorship Programme.
• This programme is designed for university students in the United Kingdom and Ireland who are Black / African African-American or Afro-Caribbean, and are interested in connecting with members of the McKinsey Black Network.
• Future Black Leaders Programme is just one of our many worldwide initiatives aimed at helping individuals get to know McKinsey better.

Application process: 

To apply, please submit the following by 20 April 2025:

• Your CV; 
• A cover letter, in which you include your motivation for this programme, and a brief essay (250 words maximum) about your proudest or most interesting personal achievement. Please include the obstacles you overcame to reach this achievement and why it is important to you.
•  As part of the application process, you will be asked to complete Solve - McKinsey’s assessment game.

Eligibility:

Future Black Leaders Programme is aimed at individuals who are Black/ African/Afro-Caribbean or African-American and:

• Are currently in their first year of undergraduate studies at a UK or Ireland university (or second year if enrolled in a four-year program)
• Have an outstanding record of academic performance and leadership
• Enjoy problem solving and creative thinking
• Are interested in learning more about a career in consulting

What to expect:

During the period June - December 2025, individuals invited to the programme will have:

• Monthly interactions with their McKinsey mentors;
• Access to McKinsey trainings to work on skills (including problem solving & leadership);
• An opportunity to join us for an immersive work experience in our London office to solve a real-life business case in early September 2025.

Please note, the programme will be set up in a hybrid way, with some elements taking place virtually and some in person (in McKinsey's London office). The work experience will also be planned outside of your academic terms.
