Responsibilities

  • - The successful role holder will either work in Chemical, Oral Product or New Modalities and Parenterals Development, working in multidisciplinary teams, or as part of Process Engineering groups, responsible for the application of new technologies, process development and safe manufacturing scale up, leading to right first-time campaigns.
  • - Chemical Development are responsible for the design and delivery of the chemical manufacturing processes -of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API).
  • - Oral Product Development and New Modalities and Parenteral Development are responsible for the design and delivery of the drug product for the patient. This includes optimisation of the drug product manufacturing process.
  • - Oral Product Development are responsible for the development of small molecule drug products, including tablet and capsule based products.
  • - New Modalities and Parenteral Development are responsible for the development of large molecule drug products, including injectables.
  • - The yearlong industrial student placement will offer a mixture of drug development project work and new technology projects with support from an experienced engineer.
  • - In drug substance development (Chemical Development) this can include laboratory work or modelling and simulation (or a combination of both) of unit operations such as, reactions, distillations, filtration and drying or liquid liquid extractions in batch or continuous fashion.
  • - In drug product development (Oral Product and New Modalities and Parenteral) this can include laboratory work or modelling and simulation of unit operations such as feeding, blending, filling, compounding, or lyophilisation in a batch or continuous fashion.
