Requirements

  • Educational Experience/Requirements:
  • Preferred Major(s): Programming, Data Engineering, Information Technology
  • Preferred Level of Education: College junior and above
  • Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degree program at an accredited college or university
  • Physical Requirements:
  • The demands associated with the normal office environment
  • Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
  • Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
  • Able to work in office with provided devices
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Good project management skills
  • Experience with and understanding of some programming platforms
  • Experience with and understanding of data engineering, cloud solutions, Chatbots, artificial intelligence, machine learning etc.
  • Experience with and understanding of developing new applications

Responsibilities

  • In this role within the Safety department’s Occupational Safety and Environmental Compliance unit, interns will:
  • Organize and analyze datasets on facility inspections conducted by safety officers.
  • Develop a findings presentation and report based on the inspection dataset's analysis and any actions taken to improve the implementation of safety programs in the CTA.
  • Assist with implementing safety programs and initiatives at CTA.
  • Participate in CTA safety trainings and field inspections.
