Requirements

  • Educational Experience/Requirements:
  • Preferred Major(s): Civil Engineering
  • Preferred Level of Education: College first-year and above
  • Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degree program at an accredited college or university
  • Physical Requirements:
  • The demands associated with the normal office environment
  • Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
  • Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
  • Long-distance walking
  • Able to carry inspection tools up to 20 pounds
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Good project management skills
  • Quality-oriented
  • Experience with AutoCAD, FEM analysis software such as SAP2000 or Staa, and calculation tools such as MathCAD

Responsibilities

  • In this role within the Infrastructure department’s Structural unit, interns will:
  • Assist engineers with structural design and drafting.
  • Inspect existing structures and construction.
  • Ensure projects are within budget and scheduled.
