Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or other related field.
  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
  • Laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture and proficiency in aseptic technique..
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expected graduation date between December 2024 – July 2025.
  • Experience with ATF (alternating tangential flow filtration) perfusion technology.
  • Experience in executing mammalian suspension cell culture processes in shake flasks and 2L bioreactors.
  • Experience with authoring technical reports and delivering presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cell culture media and stock solutions.
  • Plan, design, and execute cell culture activities from vial thaw, passaging, scale-up, and shake flask fed batch production experiments.
  • Setup and execute 2L bioreactors with ATF perfusion.
  • Monitor the cell culture performance via various analyzers such as cell counter, blood gas analyzer, metabolite analyzer, and HPLC.
  • Document and analyze data.
  • Author and present experiment findings in a PowerPoint and/or poster presentation.
