Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Biological/Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Biochemistry or other related field.
  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
  • Must have basic knowledge/experience with molecular biology methods including cell culture.
  • Experience in reading and summarizing scientific papers related to biological science.
  • Strong problem-solving skills including critical and analytical thinking.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate key findings and ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expected graduation date between December 2024 – June 2025.
  • Knowledge in toxicology or related fields is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review available scientific literature on current approaches (focusing on invitro assays) for mitochondrial toxicity and data interpretation.
  • Work with Molecular toxicology team to curate and summarize externally published data for different assays for reference mito-toxicants.
  • Contribute to experimental design and conduct of wet lab experiments to test selected compounds in battery of mitochondrial toxicity assays.
  • Summarize/analyze data and present in internal and external (if opportunity) meetings.
  • Collaborate with bioinformatics team to compile and visualize the data. If opportunity arises, also contribute for data curation and integration of internal transcriptomics/cell painting data related to mitochondrial toxicants.
