Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field.
  • Must be enrolled as a student for the duration of the internship period.
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expected graduation date between December 2024 – July 2025.
  • Ability to conduct, troubleshoot, and interpret scientific experiments, providing suggestions for additional experiments, including design and development of new LC-MS assays, especially related to bioanalysis.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including data analysis.
  • Self-motivated; ability to execute with limited supervision and direction. Can work independently or part of a team.
  • Proficient in productivity & data analysis software including Microsoft Office Suite, GraphPad Prism, Sciex OS.
  • Familiarity with Shimadzu UPLC, Waters M-Class, and SCIEX QQQ.
  • Fundamental understanding of protein therapeutics (mAbs, ADCs, multispecifics, etc.) and DMPK principles.

Responsibilities

  • Set up initial microflow LC-MS/MS method for protein quantitation.
  • Optimize direct injection method and trap-elute method.
  • Adjust the sample preparation workflow to improve compatibility with microflow assay.
  • Identify the most suitable trap and analytical column combinations for the workflow.
  • Evaluate microflow assay robustness and sensitivity and compare to the analytical flow assay.
  • Draft protocols for optimized methods.
  • Present work (oral presentation and/or poster) to the broader department.
