What is the duration of the Buckeye Diversity Summer Internship Program?
The program lasts for 10 weeks during the summer.
Who is eligible to apply for the internship?
Undergraduate rising seniors from universities and colleges, including The Ohio State University, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), minority-serving institutions, and other 4-year universities are eligible to apply.
What is the minimum GPA requirement for applicants?
Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher.
What academic fields are eligible for the internship?
Students studying Business, Healthcare, Public Health, Psychology, and other health disciplines are eligible to apply.
Will interns receive compensation for the internship?
Yes, the OSUWMC Diversity internship program is a paid summer internship.
Is housing provided for non-local interns?
Yes, OSUWMC will provide housing for non-local students.
How many interns will be selected for the program?
Up to 6 interns will be selected for the internship program.
What opportunities will interns have during the program?
Interns will have opportunities to work on meaningful projects, participate in personal and professional development, attend monthly lunch and learns, and engage in various activities throughout the summer.
Will interns have a mentor during the program?
Yes, each intern will be paired with an Executive Leader who will mentor them throughout the internship.
What areas will interns focus on during their projects?
Project focus areas include Hospital Administration, Operations, Human Resources, Ambulatory Services, and Mental and Behavioral Health.
What is expected from interns at the conclusion of the internship?
Interns will have the opportunity to present their summer experience to senior leaders at the conclusion of the internship.
