Who is eligible to apply for the Placement Scheme?
The Placement Scheme is open to third or fourth year LLB students in Scotland, first or second year of Graduate LLB, and LLB graduates. We also consider applications from those who have received a 2:2 with mitigating circumstances.
What can I expect during the Placement Scheme?
The Placement Scheme includes informative sessions, group exercises, assessed work, and time at your desk. You'll also attend social events to get to know our people and culture, providing a real chance to connect with the team.
What happens after the Placement Scheme?
Successful candidates from the Placement Scheme will be offered a training contract with the firm.
What does the training contract entail?
The training contract lasts two years and includes four six-month seats in various practice areas such as Corporate & Commercial, Disputes, Finance & Projects, and Real Estate, tailored to your needs and interests.
Are applications accepted from international candidates?
Yes, we welcome applications from candidates from all locations. However, please note that this role may not meet the Home Office requirements for a Skilled Worker visa, and we may not be able to sponsor visas at the point of hire.
What is the application window for the Placement Scheme?
The application window is from 1st October 2024 to 6th January 2025.
Can I apply to both the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices?
No, you can only apply for one location per intake year, so please decide where you would like to be based before applying.
Will I need to undertake seats in both Edinburgh and Glasgow?
Yes, there is an expectation that you will undertake seats in both the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices during your training contract.
