  • Must-have
  • Enrollment in a post-secondary institution (university or college) in a degree program related to design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Exposure to designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms
  • Exposure to applied research settings including experience integrating user research into product designs and design practices
  • Solid knowledge of design tools (Adobe Photoshop and/or Sketch, Illustrator, and presentation software) and principles (typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, colour, white space, etc.)
  • Portfolio that includes case studies where you walk through the problem you were solving and the process you used to come to a solution

Responsibilities

  • Employ user-centered design principles and techniques to optimize the client experience for new and existing RBC products and features
  • Create complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate ideas
  • Create complex prototypes to provide delivery specifications for development
  • Evaluate visual designs for accessibility, inclusivity and provide expert advice and guidance to cross-functional teams
  • Participate in usability testing and research activities
  • Collaborate with your core design team, project managers, developers, and business stakeholders
