Requirements

  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to learn and utilize new systems as needed
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish relationships and interact with various levels within the organization
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally via phone, email and in person
  • Strong public speaking, group presentation, interpersonal and persuasion skills required
  • Ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances by being flexible and execute accordingly
  • Ability to innovate and enhance existing solutions
  • Enthusiastic, pro-active, and positive person who manages change with urgency and persistence
  • SAP or Sage Fixed Assets experience a plus but not required
  • Education and Experience:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program within Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA candidate a plus

Responsibilities

  • The role of the Accounting & Tax Intern is an integral member of the accounting & tax team adding value through assisting with a variety of tasks as well as working closely with both the Accounting and Tax
  • Projects & Tasks:
  • Learn Accounting & Tax processes for month-end close & preparing account reconciliations
  • Assist with audit requests & preparation of the financial statements
  • Gain a basic understanding of various accounting & financial technologies
  • Assist in completing monthly/bimonthly non US indirect tax returns for Canada
  • Post monthly tax journal entries and attachments in SAP
  • Prepare & send monthly Transfer Pricing invoices to regions and post monthly journal entries
  • Assist with fixed asset additions, disposals and rollforward reconciliations.
  • Keeps all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned
