Requirements

  • Candidate must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or similar
  • Candidate must be willing to work onsite in a classified lab environment
  • Aerodynamic and fluid dynamic modeling and analyses experience
  • Significant programming experience in at least one programming language.
  • Mathematical modeling and analyses skills: Calculus (through Differential Equations), Numerical Methods, Linear Algebra
  • Significant aerodynamic wind tunnel testing experience
  • Significant Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) experience
  • Significant programming experience: C++, MATLAB, FORTRAN
  • Flight simulation modeling experience and aerodynamic model generation
  • Heat transfer analyses (Conduction, Convection, Radiation)
  • Reacting flow/hypersonic experience
  • This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate must be able to perform aerodynamic analysis (including simulation and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling), aerodynamic design (including preliminary design and detailed design), and wind tunnel test planning and execution.
  • The selected candidate will need to have a good understanding of flight vehicle stability and control, simulation modeling, aerodynamic modeling, experimental aerodynamics, flight test data analysis, and separation and fly-out simulations.
