Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, AI/ML, Computer Science or a related field
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program
  • Experience Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and natural language processing techniques
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R
  • Understanding of biotechnology, genomics, and multiomics data
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support biomarker discovery and signature development projects, applying best practices in data science and machine learning to develop multiomics data integration and retrieval methodologies
  • Utilize AI/deep learning methodologies to design and implement a natural language interface for querying multiomics data
  • Develop algorithmic methodologies to accurately extract relevant information from NGS datasets containing diverse sample types
  • Work with the computational biology team to integrate the developed natural language interface with our multiomics database
  • Document the development process, algorithms, and codebase for future reference
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, data scientists, and software engineers
  • Communicate project updates, challenges, and results effectively to team members and stakeholders
  • Apply rigorous standards and processes for code quality, configuration and change management, data provenance, and organization of supporting computational infrastructure to ensure accurate and reproducible analysis results
