  • Currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship in Summer 2025.
  • Registered for or attending ICML (The International Conference on Machine Learning) 2024
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with statistical modeling and deep learning, especially with frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow or Keras.
  • Proficient coding in one or more languages (e.g., Python, C# or similar)
  • A background in data structures, algorithms and analysis of algorithm complexity
  • Understanding of ML frameworks: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or Caffe
  • Understanding of big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or Cassandra.
  • Specialized experience in one or more of these areas: Natural Language Understanding, Neural Networks, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Large Language Models, Data Mining, Machine Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence) or related fields

Responsibilities

  • You will gain expertise in one or more subareas of research and understand applicable research techniques. You’ll also gain deep knowledge of a service, platform, or domain, and become familiar with the latest industry trends and applied technologies.
  • You will apply strategies provided by team members and incorporate state-of-the-art research. You’ll also develop an understanding of methods used in the community and gain expertise in a deeply specialized area.
  • As you reinforce a positive environment by applying best practices, you will also support mentorship and assist with the onboarding of entry-level team members. Additionally, you will maintain ties with an external network of peers and identify prospective talent, when asked.
  • You will document work in progress and share findings to promote innovation within a group. You’ll also learn and follow ethics and privacy policies while executing research processes or collecting information.
