Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related program.
Must have reliable transportation to the office.
Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Possess solid problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.

Responsibilities

Our interns will assist technical staff on day-to-day projects.
Perform Phase I level surveys including reconnaissance and shovel testing.
Collect relevant field data and prepare necessary digital documentation.
Employ basic knowledge of soil types and topographic features when conducting survey.
Identify cultural features and/or material in the field.
Utilize basic artifact knowledge to make general date and type assessments of artifacts in the field.
Delineate archaeological and/or architectural sites.
Complete required field forms including but not limited to – daily job reports, shovel test forms, site forms, PRA forms, etc.
Assist with Phase II or Phase III archaeological investigations under the direct supervision of field director or Principal Investigator.
Set up and help maintain project files and records.
