Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Architecture, Interior Design, or related Undergraduate degree program.
  • Energetic and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
  • Average proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.
  • Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
  • Interest to work in support of engineering-driven projects.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior internship and leadership involvement on campus.
  • Experience using current digital modeling applications including Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials and construction drawing standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of architectural tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
  • Learn basic principles of architectural design.
  • Develop architectural drawings, including renderings, with oversight and direction from senior staff.
  • Support studies and design development for a wide variety of facilities.
  • Attend local and/or regional site visits and/or client meetings alongside project staff.
  • Conduct code compliance reviews for new construction and renovations of buildings.
  • Research and select products and finishes.
  • Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
