Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or similar, from an accredited college or university
  • Sophomore or Junior level student in good academic standing
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a goal
  • Excellent organization and personal time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess effective problem solving and critical thinking skills; ability to be creative and resourceful when needed
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Bi, Power Automate, and Palantir desired
  • Proficiency in data analytics
  • Previous classroom and/or work experience in one or more of the following areas: technical writing, technical drawing/CAD, statics
  • Interest in or aptitude to learn about careers in the heavy equipment industry

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with experienced engineers within Service Excellence and OE Engineering departments, on the shop floor and in labs to observe and document processes and work on various assignments related to process improvement and data analysis.
  • Create and edit draft versions of component rebuild work instructions, typically based on existing engineering and or service center work instructions or manuals. (as part of a team with frequent interaction with product engineers and service experts)
  • Participate in weekly team case review and swarming sessions to evaluate requests coming in from the global service centers.
  • Work cases assigned by team, independently or with other team members as appropriate.
