Requirements

  • You are currently a first year student, enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program in a related field
  • You have an interest in 3D asset creation for worlds/environments in games, an understanding of visual storytelling as well as an eye for Light, Shades, Color theory and Details
  • Foundational knowledge of at least one industry standard engine (Unreal or Unity) and basic knowledge of content creation software like Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer
  • 3D Modeling skills and understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette
  • Knowledge of real-time asset creation techniques (Shaders, PBR, Normal maps, Displacement maps etc.)
  • You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025
  • We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than May 2028
  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Responsibilities

  • You will help create environment assets (such as rocks, street props or furniture), in a production environment, from concept to integration. This means that you will:
  • Model and Texture assets from given reference.
  • Attend reviews and adapt your work based on feedback.
  • Work with your Lead and other disciplines until validation to ensure the work meets established technical and performance requirements
  • Learn to integrate your content successfully in the proprietary game engine
  • You will learn to match an existing aesthetic style and implement it through authoring of assets
