Description
- The Banking CIB COO team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Banking Front Office departments (ECFD, ESFD, IAFD, MEA, GIB) and CIB Management in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of Front Office operations. The Banking COO responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities that are critical to the Banking business success, including Front Office strategy and planning, management of business initiatives, resource allocation and talent development, Front Office analytics including performance management, process management and optimisation, communications and risk and governance activities.
- As a Banking COO intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the operations and strategic initiatives of Mizuho’s Banking platform. Under the guidance of the team you will assist in various project and tasks aimed at supporting the Banking business. This learning will be undertaken whilst also building knowledge and understanding of Mizuho, and the culture and behaviours that underpin the organisation.
- The Internship programme is a 10 week programme starting in June 2024. The aim is that successful interns will be offered a permanent position on the 2025 Mizuho Graduate Programme (commencing September 2025).

- Supporting the COO Analytics team in conducting analysis to identify performance trends, performance metrics and areas for improvement
- Supporting the implementation of a key Digital Infrastructure project, delivering a Customer Relationship Management software upgrade across the platform, acting as part of the project team leading the delivery of the project
- Assisting in the planning, execution and monitoring of various projects related to strategy, business initiatives, client planning and resource allocation
- Assisting in the drafting and preparation of presentation materials for Senior CIB EMEA management across a broad range of topics
- Gaining a holistic understanding of Mizuho’s business and services, focussing on Front Office activities across the CIB.
- Developing a network across the organisation; building relationships that enhance knowledge and understanding.
- Communicating with confidence and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrating a desire to learn and gain a breadth of knowledge and understanding
