Requirements

The essential requirements of the job include:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Software engineering.
Ability to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and electrical/pneumatic schematics.
Understanding of basic software principles and languages used in production environments (C#, C++ Labview, TestStand).
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Regulated environments
Hands on hardware design (CAD based – SolidWorks/ PROe Creo) and construction (3d printing, using aluminum extrusion such as 80/20 systems).
Hobby mechatronics projects (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc…)

You will be a part of the Hardware Test Engineering team and report to the Manager of Test Engineering responsible for designing, maintaining and certifying the equipment used to manufacture and test a variety of medical devices. The Test Engineering intern for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for helping develop new automation and test equipment. This will involve working with the R&D and Manufacturing teams to develop and document equipment requirements and then design and construct custom test equipment hardware (mechanical and electrical design). Additionally, this job includes working to guide/develop the software and user interface to control the custom equipment.
