Requirements

  • Proficient in Python and/or Matlab programming, with hands-on experience in image data analysis using various software tools and scripts.
  • Strong understanding of camera and optical lab equipment, with direct lab experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in imaging systems and image quality metrics.
  • Familiar with lenses, sensors, illumination systems, etc.
  • Interest in emerging sensing technologies such as night vision, computational photography, depth sensing, diffractive optics, etc.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in EE, Optics, Physics, or related fields; graduate students are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Camera Hardware Engineering Team, you will drive current and future product architectures aligned with Skydio's product vision, including camera, module, and Image Signal Processor (ISP) capabilities, as well as the validation of camera system performance.
  • You will contribute to the development of camera module calibration and test systems, developing internal tools and algorithms. These tools will play a crucial role in validating the performance of both the module and system levels, ensuring the overall functionality of camera modules for our next generation drones.
  • In addition to your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with external contract manufacturers, overseeing camera calibration processes. This role presents an excellent opportunity to gain insights into various aspects of camera design and testing within an innovative and dynamic environment.
