Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in North Carolina A&T’s undergraduate landscape architecture program and a student in good academic standing.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong working knowledge of design software such as SketchUp Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, GIS/ArcPro, and Office Suite, as well as an ability to graphically illustrate design solutions by hand.
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university leading towards a Bachelor's degree with major course work in a related field of study specific to the departmental and/or work assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists senior planning and design staff in the Charlotte Urban Design Center (UDC) with the development of design and planning related research, reports, illustrative plans, 3-dimensional analysis and modeling studies, and assists the UDC as needed.
  • Work will include project production associated with planning studies and reports, including area studies, corridor plans, redevelopment plans and streetscape design as part of a Planning team.
  • Also will be involved in supporting placemaking projects and urban design educational programming.
