Requirements

  • Pursuing an associate degree in civil engineering technology or a related engineering field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0; 3.5 or higher is preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D either through coursework or industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
  • Completed or enrolled in physics and/or mathematics coursework
  • At least one full-time semester of course work remaining after internship is complete
  • A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
  • Detail-oriented, thorough, and organized approach
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Previous construction observation, Civil 3D, or other design software experience=
  • Experience with GPS survey equipment
  • Current FAA Part 107 sUAS drone pilot license

Responsibilities

  • Typical project responsibilities may include design using CADD modeling software and assistance with construction plans and specifications; supporting internal project teams by creating, preparing, modifying, and managing drawings, specifications, and models for design documents; field data reduction; and spreadsheet preparation. Fieldwork opportunities may include survey and other field tasks.
