Description

  • Under close supervision, assists the Water Resources team by performing basic engineering-related tasks. Designs include highway, bridge, and transit system projects. Our team designs key infrastructure investments for PennDOT, PA Turnpike, SEPTA, and Amtrak.
  • Aspects of the position include: Assists in preparation of technical reports, calculations, and engineering plans for water resource designs including drainage, post-construction stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, erosion and sediment pollution control, site grading, permit materials, cost estimates, and quantities. Opportunity to Participate in field visits or client meetings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program
  • What You’ll Bring:
  • Understands engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles at a basic level.
  • Shows proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Accepts and applies direction from peers and supervisors.
  • Obtains an understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures and requirements.
  • Ability to perform basic engineering calculations
  • Ability to organize information for use in drawings or other documents
  • What We Prefer:
  • Completion of 2 years of post-secondary engineering program
  • Basic knowledge of a drafting software (AutoCAD, Microstation, or OpenRoads)
  • Interested in water resource projects as it relates to transportation projects
