  • Your experience and education:
  • You are enrolled in an accounting focused post-secondary program with intention of pursuing the CPA designation
  • You have a strong interest in Due Diligence
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated, autonomous and able to work under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Skilled in building a network and effective working relationships
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Perform market, industry and company research;
  • Evaluate a business’ historical performance and financial projections;
  • Understand key accounting policies and management control environments;
  • Perform various in-depth financial analyses on companies including analyzing and understanding the sustainability of earnings and cash flows, operating working capital requirements, quality of assets and key drivers of financial performance (revenues and margins, operating expenses, etc.);
  • Interpret analysis and assist in the preparation of detailed buy-side and sell-side due diligence reports;
  • Undertake smaller assignments or assist on larger assignments reporting to a manager, senior manager, or a partner;
  • Support various business development initiatives including pitches and proposals;
  • Communicate directly with various transaction counterparties including the client, target, potential buyers, other advisors and lenders;
  • Contribute to the effective working of the team and development of team morale; and
  • Occasionally support one of our other business units in a cross-functional role (e.g., Valuations, M&A, Commercial Due Diligence, Restructuring, etc.).
