Description

  • As a core member of the Commercial team, you’ll be responsible for supporting the operation of the team, with particular emphasis on efficient communication flow, responsive reporting, and accurate setup of key project information on internal & external systems. You'll work closely with the Marketing, Audience Development, Label Operations, Data Insights and UMG's Central Commercial teams.

Be Organised

  • Gather assets to support pitching for digital partners (press shots, liners etc)
  • Compile artist presentation decks for both regular & ad hoc meetings with commercial partners
  • Collate info and complete weekly pitch forms for all DSPs & Central Digital Partnerships Team
  • Manage Spotify Label Inventory allocation requests and coordination of asset delivery between Marketing and Central Digi Partnerships teams 
  • Responsible for updating DSPs on artist promo updates & resurgence track streaming uplift
  • Track physical/digital links and passing onto marketing teams for use within linkfires, mailers etc

Be Analytical 

  • Report on a variety of campaigns, audience and sales data using the UMG suite of analytics tools
  • Liaise with Data Insights team to highlight performance of key releases, 
  • Identify streaming spikes and potential reasons (eg. TikTok trend/playlist add/promo etc)
  • Represent Commercial in the weekly Resurgent meeting – reporting back key actions
  • Become the expert in utilising all external partner tools (eg. Spotify For Artists, Apple Music For Artists etc) as well as 3rd party data tools (eg. Chartmetric)

Be Administrative 

  • Work with Label Ops & A&R to ensure the digital release schedule is up to date
  • Understand each platform’s playlist ecosystem and keeping the wider label teams updated with major playlist additions for our music
  • Ensure all artist profiles across DSPs are kept up to date
  • Build the relationship & take ownership of the pitching into our internal UMG Owned & Operated / uDiscover playlist team
  • Collaborate closely with the wider marketing, label & promo teams, providing information where required
  • Manage the free product system for wider UMR team
  • Assist the other UMR interns cross-department where required

Requirements

  • A passion for & broad knowledge of multiple musical genres and audiences; a love of music across the decades is a bonus
  • Display initiative, with a proactive, energetic approach to work
  • Strong, clear communication & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Google Docs, and comfortable with learning new systems, e.g., proprietary UMG tracking tools
