  • Communications Intern, Commercial Markets:
  • The Commercial Markets division leads the sales, retention, market strategy, pricing, and product and segment performance for our commercial business. Our Planning and Performance team evolves the division’s strategic direction by measuring our market competitiveness, while ensuring we foster engagement and encourage participation in growing the Commercial Markets culture. We are responsible for the division’s internal communications and performance reporting needs. As an Integrated Marketing Communications Intern, you will broaden your marketing and communication competencies working on a variety of projects, such as drafting communications for the Culture and Engagement team, creating communications plans and templates for company-wide events, and curating articles and newsletter communications.

  • Strategic Communications Summer Intern:
  • The Blue Cross NC Strategy and Diversified Business Group (SDBG) guides our enterprise strategy and builds out the enterprise asset portfolio through the development, management and follow-through of diversification efforts. Our Divisional Operations and Strategic Communications team is uniquely positioned to drive strategic conversations across divisional and enterprise teams, targeting both internal and external audiences, as the influential “voice” of the company's long-term growth strategy. The Strategic Communications Intern will have the opportunity to curate portfolio pieces with work on divisional events, internal communication deliverables, and gain hands-on experience with project planning for enterprise communications, and logistical planning of large events.

  • The Must-Haves:
  • You will have knowledge of or experience with integrated communications, marketing, journalism and/or content management.
  • You demonstrate influence and effective written and verbal communication with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word and PowerPoint.
  • You’re available to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks from May 20 – July 26, 2024.
  • You will be located in North Carolina during the internship program.
  • You’re legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • The Government Markets division leads the sales, retention, market strategy, pricing, product and segment performance in addition to managing our sales contact centers and retail stores. Our Chief of Staff to Government Markets team drives action and advocacy by telling the Blue Cross NC story. We advance strategic initiatives across the Government Markets division and innovate to elevate. We think creatively to make processes less complex and experiment with ways we can deliver better care to those we serve. As a Communications Intern, you will support the development of executive reports, employee communications and division events, deliver accurate and meaningful information/narratives for diverse audiences, informing connecting employees of our goals, progress and our "whys" as well as create an experience that leaves employees feeling heard, valued and part of the solution.
