Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have a HS Diploma or GED.
  • This internship will end in time for the intern to return to college.
  • Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities while conducting all activities related to the intern appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision of a Senior Architect and following established practices, policies, and guidelines, the intern will learn about specific capital project development through hands-on training and real-world experience. Prior to starting activities, the intern will complete CSMC orientation and will be oriented /on boarded to the department. They will have a robust internship experience which includes a mix of shadowing, teaching & education, and hands-on training:
  • The intern will shadow the Senior Architect to gain insight and practical knowledge on how facilities planning design and construction operates on a daily basis. Attend meetings as deemed appropriate.
  • The Senior Architect will review the FPDC accounting components of PUMA with the intern for accuracy and reporting, including tracking cash flows for the current fiscal year, total project costs and review of change orders and architectural add service requests.
  • Assist the Senior Architect with a variety of tasks associated with architectural aspects of Capital projects for CSMC, additional activities to include review of project budgets, assist with project scheduling, attend project meetings and job walks as needed.
