  • Dudek’s Conveyance Engineering group is seeking a full-time intern for the Summer 2024 who is currently studying civil or environmental engineering. An ideal candidate will contribute to and gain experience from Dudek’s qualified team to deliver quality work with adherence to project budgets and schedules, build relationships, and engage in professional growth opportunities.
  • General focus of the position is planning, analysis, design, and engineering support during construction of water, wastewater, and recycled water-related facilities, including pipeline, pump station, and storage facility design. Work will include drafting (AutoCAD), calculations, and technical writing. Engineering professionals at Dudek frequently work on multi-discipline projects. Candidates can expect to work collaboratively with Dudek’s environmental and stormwater teams


  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Civil or Environmental Engineering major at an ABET accredited university.
  • As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of GIS and AutoCAD
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. Technical writing proficiency recommended
  • Organized
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office

Area of Responsibilities



  • Research, data collection, organization, technical analysis, preparation of results, evaluation of data, and interpretation. Research also includes contacting and speaking with equipment vendors/suppliers, construction contractors, and field specialists as needed to obtain high quality information.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and utilize various computer-based tools, including primarily AutoCAD, ArcGIS, hydraulic modeling software such as InfoWater or InfoSewer.
  • Prepare well written and organized technical reports, consisting of background, approach, data collection, analysis, conclusions and recommendations, including the creation of supporting and informative graphics and tables
  • Prepare detailed construction cost estimates, including necessary research to obtain high quality information.
  • Develop solid understanding of project goals and objectives and use this understanding to prepare engineering improvement plans and technical specifications under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Civil Engineer.
  • Willingness and commitment to support any and all tasks necessary as assigned to provide high quality service and deliverables to our clients.
