  • Merchants Insurance Group, a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast, is looking for is looking for a highly motivated Corporate Claims Intern interested in learning and applying their skills in a corporate capacity. You will be working directly with Claims professionals responsible for the timely investigation, evaluation and equitable resolution through settlement or litigation of all assigned claims.

  • Full-time, paid internship at $17.00 hourly starting May 2024 through August 2024 based on school schedule. A minimum commitment of 2-3 months is required.
  • Candidates should be pursuing a 4 year degree.
  • An interest in pursuing a career with a property and casualty insurance company is desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team in a hybrid work environment.
  • Has a willingness to take on a diverse set of projects and deliver high quality work.

Area of Responsibilities



  • Assist corporate claim staff in reviewing a large number of multi state jurisdictional toxic tort summons and complaints, and the extraction of important and relevant information into a spreadsheet to allow its tracking and review.
  • Assist in the entry of claim file notes and documents in Merchants’ systems to correctly reflect that status of claims and outcomes, and to otherwise accurately post information and maintain internal documents.
