Description

  • The Leidos Corporate Earned Value Management (EVM) Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a Project Planning and EVM intern. The position is on the Corporate EVM COE team implementing and executing the core responsibilities of EVM and scheduling across the enterprise and a broad range of areas for which it is responsible.
  • The selected candidate will work with Senior Managers of the EVM COE and team members to support various project planning and cost integration-related activities. This is a great opportunity for a college student with technical education (e.g., engineering, computer science) to learn about the planning, scheduling, and cost integration aspects essential to enabling technical solutions to become successful.
  • This position may also interface with task and functional leaders, to include web page development, EVM Lite process implementation, and personnel support.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field.
  • Strong passion for Agile methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Familiarity with Jira or other Agile project management tools.
  • Previous internship or coursework related to Agile methodologies.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new challenges.

  • Assist more senior-level specialists and managers in their activities that are technical in nature
  • Complete tasks individually and/or as a team participant
  • Seek guidance when needed but requires moderate guidance and direction
  • Follow established processes and checklists and create additional ones with the support of more experienced team membersA key role in supporting the evolution of the planning and cost integration practices
  • Document the specific changes needed to evolve the associated practices
  • Provide this feedback to the tool, process, or people owners of the associated solutions to aid in championing consistent practices and process improvement across the company
  • Aid in incorporating these practices into our overall planning and scheduling practices as part of our effort to better align all EVM COE solutions
  • Identifies, defines, and addresses problems that are not immediately evident but typically not complex. Problems are typically within a narrow scope and are solved through drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis.
  • Communicate with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to the area.
  • Requires limited use and/or application of basic principles, theories, and concepts. Utilizes limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.
