Requirements

  • Strong project management and organisational skills – ability to maintain material/plans and presentations with updated information and data (i.e updating the weekly WIP report)
  • An interest in responsible investment, corporate responsibility and sustainability topics – engagement and curiosity in these areas is important
  • Teamworking capabilities
  • Good knowledge of IT tools – Microsoft Office in particular (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Effective business partnering – desire to collaborate and maintain trust-based relationships with key stakeholders
  • Multi tasking – a need to work on many activities simultaneously and be aware of multiple deadlines
  • A positive and confident personality, happy to work with senior stakeholders
  • Impressive written and verbal communication skill
  • Have strong numerical capability, particularly data analysis
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An interest and knowledge of financial services / asset management

Responsibilities

  • Reporting:
  • A key role for the intern is working on the annual reports we perform as a company. There are multiple of these which are focused across our ESG framework. This largely involves data analysis and communicating with relevant data suppliers globally.
  • Manage data collection and reporting (under CR Manager supervision) on three key reportings for AXA Group (Environmental reporting, Community Survey and Sustainability Index).
  • Support on AXA IM’s own environmental report - GEMS
  • Contribute to understanding of upcoming CSRD regulation.
  • Impact philanthropy:
  • We are looking to adapt this programme as part of an effort to improve company culture and further incorporate employees into this initiative.
  • To work with CR team to develop current philanthropy programme and opportunities to evolve with new activities/approach.
  • Continue relevant competitor research on the philanthropy topic.
  • Prepare proposal for senior sign off and set up governance for deployment. Manage day to day relationships with the charities and ensure regular reporting on progress is conducted.
  • Modern slavery and human rights:
  • This topic is critical for us as a company to display our values and truly walk the talk. Supporting the team in this topic is central to the role.
  • To conduct competitor mapping on human rights activity and to assess what more might be done at AXA IM to demonstrate our commitment to be a responsible business. To review local regulatory requirements by company and ensure that AXA IM works to best practice standards.
  • To prepare local reporting for submission where required
  • To work alongside compliance in order to address processes and advance on any recommendations (increased training for staff, revised processes).
  • CO2 reduction strategies
  • We partner with an external consultant in order to further refine our net zero roadmap. A key project within this is the development and implementation of office ‘best practices’ to be distributed to all our local offices. This holds the aim of decreasing our remaining scope 1&2 emissions.
  • Best practice on reducing emissions - support our different offices by implementing ‘best practice’ guidance sheets on how to reduce key emissions. These hold a focus on power, car fleet, business travel, water, waste, and paper. Working with the support our consultant, ensure our offices have these available to them. Support local offices with advice and guidance on measures to reduce emissions.
  • Renewable energy transition for our key offices:
  • Lead on maintaining renewable electricity supply to offices.
  • Assess the feasibility of directly sourcing renewable electricity in 2024, communicating with the local offices and their different suppliers.
  • Provide our provider with the correct figures for 2024 electricity consumption.
  • Day to day management of CR office:
  • Manage team governance (meetings and discussions, minutes)
  • Support implementation of CR projects, activities on governance/administrative processes – monitoring the CR budget and spend
  • Be up to date on CR current affairs
  • Management of the team’s work in progress tracker
  • Supporting the business on client RFPs, with metrics and information on progress
  • Maintenance of CR SharePoint
  • Support the team with writing/updating educational presentations to Teams
  • Work on internal communications and engagement programmes
