Requirements

  • You will need to be on track to achieve at least a 2.2 degree in transport or automotive design or digital 3D design.
  • For Digital Design this also includes degrees in Interaction design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Product or Industrial design. VFX, Game design, 3D visualisation and Animation degrees.
  • In addition, you will need to have a real passion for problem-solving, the curiosity to understand business challenges, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • You will also need to have strong numerical and interpersonal skills, as well as the confidence to champion new initiatives.
  • Please note that our undergraduate placement opportunities are open only to penultimate-year students (those who will be returning to their final year of study or on an integrated master’s after their placement with us).
  • All our undergraduate programmes have a fixed start date, commencing 7th July 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Design Vehicle Visualisation is a highly creative and multi-faceted team that provides a high level of visual stimulus to aid the creative process. The team is responsible for bringing digital data to life and realising the future vision of our four illustrious brands.
  • Working closely with all creative departments, we are responsible for creating visual experiences through the medium of; images, animations, real time and virtual reality presentations.
  • During the graduate scheme, you will receive training in industry-recognised visualisation software such as Maya, VRED and Unreal as well as compositing software such as Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Working within a highly skilled team you will be able to positively contribute to live projects as well as take part in a graduate project.
  • The Film and Photography team at Jaguar Land Rover is a hub of creativity and technical excellence.
  • We specialise in cinematography, lighting for stills and video, and camera operation, capturing compelling documentary-style content and mastering the art of vehicle lighting.
  • Our team excels in direction, art direction, shoot planning, and production planning.
  • In post-production, we deliver high-end editing for both stills and video, photography retouching, colour grading, and advanced audio production, including composition, recording, and Foley.
  • This area emphasises visual storytelling, editing, and post-production techniques through filming, photoshoots, and motion graphics creation, using compositing software such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Da Vinci Resolve.
  • The Digital UX/UI team work closely with other disciplines within Creative (Brand, Vehicle Design, Materiality) to design digital experiences (not just limited to screens) that are part of a coherent brand world and that feel part of a joined up, holistic design approach.
  • The team consists of experts in a range of fields, from creative visualisation across different displays and digital touchpoints (on and offboard) to interaction designers who combine a human-centred design approach with interaction design expertise to ensure the standard of our digital experience is in line with our modern luxury approach to vehicle design.
  • The assets and guidelines created by the team are handed over to our delivery teams in Engineering, where we work closely in partnership to ensure that our creative vision is realised.
  • You will be challenged daily to make the best use of design and technology to create the modern digital interfaces and interactions that will play a huge part in the way customers interact with and experience our vehicles.
  • Sitting at the heart of the Creative Studio, you'll be part of a diverse and enthusiastic team responsible for bringing sketches to reality.
  • The models you’ll be working with will be virtual models from early conceptual design stages, all the way through to highly detailed pre-production models.
  • You will be working alongside world class teams of incredibly talented people.
  • Your daily interactions with designers, visualisation designers, studio engineers and physical modellers, at one of the world's most coveted automotive design studios, will pave the way for your future career at JLR.
