Requirements

  • Museum or history studies major
  • Previous research experience
  • Detail oriented
  • Passion for music history
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing demands
  • Must be proficient in computer skills including Office 365
  • Experience with Axiell a plus
  • Available to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Intern applicants must be currently enrolled in a college (preferably entering senior year after summer 2024) or graduate school program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accessioning
  • Assisting with artifact layouts for our major exhibits
  • Artifact research
  • Artifact collection
  • Collaborate with collections team as needed (cataloging, photography, etc.).
  • Photo documentation
  • Artifact and Gallery cleaning
  • Research as needed
  • Data input
  • Possible Projects:
  • Assist in curating/collecting a set of artifacts for an upcoming exhibit and overseeing the processes to get them on exhibit
  • Researching artifact background for the museum's early acquisitions
  • Assist in all aspects/processes for major exhibit opening in 2024
