Requirements

  • Undergraduate students will need to maintain a 2.0 GPA or above throughout the internship.
  • Preferred Areas of Study:
  • Enrolled in an accredited certificate, 2-year or 4-year program during their internship.
  • Enrolled in an academic program in Public Policy, Business, Marketing, Communications, Informatics, Experience or Human-Centered Design, Technology, or related field.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Forms, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Coursework related to user-centered design and/or user-experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work remotely
  • Ability to work independently under general guidance
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Are a junior or senior student at the start of the internship

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on best practices related to improving the customer experience while addressing specific concerns regarding race and social justice.
  • Support development, planning, and execution of in-house customer research projects (ex. surveys and interviews).
  • Review, organize, and participate in formal customer survey work (including crafting survey objectives, questions, and audiences).
  • Provide data analysis of survey results, customer feedback, and benchmark survey data in order to produce strategic recommendations for areas of improvement.
  • Participate in creation of customer personas, segmentation, and journey maps for specific customer programs and services.
  • Build relationships between business units and community partners to address changes to the customer and employee experiences.
  • Participate in and facilitate brainstorming sessions, meetings, and workshops related to customer experience projects and topics.
  • Help manage customer experience resources and tools for utility-wide use
