Requirements

  • Our ideal candidate for the Data Engineer Intern position should be a computer science or related degree student, preferably in their second or third year. They should have a strong foundation in Python and SQL and a genuine passion for data and data engineering.
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages like Java or Scala.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Understanding of big data technologies like Hadoop or Spark.
  • Exposure to machine learning or data science concepts and tools.
  • Education:
  • Junior or Senior year of college or advanced degree/certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborating with the data engineering team to develop and maintain data pipelines for various data sources.
  • Supporting data quality initiatives by performing data validation, cleansing, and error handling tasks.
  • Assisting in data analysis tasks, including data profiling and exploration to uncover insights and trends.
  • Participating in data-related projects, such as data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing.
  • Documenting data processes and workflows to maintain data governance and best practices.
  • Providing support for troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Learning and applying data engineering tools and technologies under the guidance of experienced team members.
