  • The purpose of the data science and analytics team is to develop a data science and analytics foundation that provides significant and lasting competitive advantage to Chegg Skills and helps change the lives of as many students as possible. 

Tools used:

  • Python, VSCode (or similar), Jupyter Notebooks, Git, AWS, LLMs (e.g. Open AI, Anthropic, Gemini

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a rising senior in college, or enrolled in an MSc program, with a focus on Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python coding and familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts.
  • Previous experience or coursework involving natural language processing (NLP) is preferred.
  • Practical understanding of document parsing and text extraction techniques.
  • Knowledge of or interest in instructional design and pedagogical frameworks such as Bloom's taxonomy.
  • Hands-on experience with data processing libraries like NLTK, Gensim, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and topic modeling algorithms such as LDA.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate system performance and suggest enhancements.
  • Strong communication skills to document and present research outcomes.
  • A proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn and contribute to team objectives.
