Description
- If you want to get real-world experience putting the methods you’ve studied into practice, this is the programme for you!
- We’re looking for budding researchers and designers to join our cross-discipline internship teams this summer.
- Get a feel for life as a designer in a cross-functional team dealing with UX (interaction design), UI (visual design) and user research, to shape amazing user experiences.
- Under the guidance of experienced mentors, our interns form a team consisting of researcher-designers and developers, to craft human experiences that people love. This might be for a client, a pro bono project for a good cause, or it might be addressing a need within Softwire.

Requirements
Who are we looking for?
- You may just have graduated, be looking for your first experience, or still working on your degree and seeking experience during the summer.
- You’re currently a student of all design disciplines, psychology, or technology.
- You’re self-taught and can show us project of your own to demonstrate your passion.
- You’re curious and eager to learn, you’re considering a career in design or user research, and want to get some real-world experience of the different design disciplines and how to work in a cross-functional team to solve real client challenges.
- You’re excited about design, and about turning someone’s vision into a tangible digital product or service. You work well in a team, bringing both your own insights and a listening ear to the conversation.
- You might be thinking of applying to an entry-level UX Designer or User Researcher role when you’ve finished your studies or projects.
You should apply if…
- You have or want an understanding of/exposure to the Design Thinking methodology.
- You’re a problem-solver who loves being creative.
- You dare to try things you might not have had the opportunity to do before – like presenting to stakeholders.
- You want to try out user research and design methods in a cross-functional team.
- You have experience using design tools or are not afraid of learning quickly (e.g., Figma or Sketch)
- You can tell us why you’re passionate about design, and how you’d like to use design in your future aspirations.
