Where is the EIB Trainee position located?
The position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence.
What is the duration of the traineeship?
The traineeship is for a duration of 5 months, starting from 1st March or April 2025, with a possible extension of up to 6 months if required by the University.
Who is eligible to apply for this traineeship?
Applications are accepted only from nationals of the Member States of the European Union and citizens from countries with candidate status to join the EU (e.g., Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine).
Can students under the Erasmus+ programme apply for the traineeship?
No, applications from students under the Erasmus+ programme cannot be considered.
What are the main responsibilities of the trainee?
The main responsibilities include analyzing past questions related to green financing, proposing category frameworks, providing generic responses, identifying educational gaps, participating in helpdesk activities, and presenting findings in a report and presentation format.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates should be in their final year of studies or hold a University degree, preferably in environmental science, climate policy, sustainability, developmental studies, economics, or business administration.
What skills are considered an advantage for this traineeship?
Good analytical skills, familiarity with frameworks like the Paris Agreement and EU Sustainable Finance Taxonomy, prior experience in climate mitigation or environmental sustainability, and proficiency in data analysis and qualitative research are advantageous.
What languages are required for this position?
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French is required, and knowledge of other EU languages would be considered an advantage.
