Description

  • Ready to advance your education and have the opportunity to work on large scale Infrastructure projects?
  • Parsons is seeking motivated Electrical Engineering students with an interest in complex projects for a summer 2024 intern position. This intern will gain exposure to the production of drawings and calculations for a wide range of infrastructure projects. 
  • We have a number of senior engineers with expertise in steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, cable stayed, arch, and segmental bridges. In addition to local and regional projects, the office is frequently collaborating with teams around North America. 
  • Parsons extensive expertise in Infrastructure design, combined with your willingness to master, practice, and expand your engineering knowledge will propel your career forward. We need interns who are versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments, who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in an engineering curriculum with a focus on engineering/civil/structures at an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of study
  • What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Electrical Engineering students nearing completion of undergraduate studies, or students currently enrolled in graduate studies are encouraged to apply. Students should have completed courses such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, geotechnical engineering, etc.
  • A problem solver with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher is desirable
  • Experience with software packages related to structural engineering such as AutoCad or Microstation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop professionally and connect with our company leaders through our organized intern program.
  • Work in the capacity of Electrical Engineer on medium to large projects.
  • Support engineering staff in performing structural analysis modelling.
  • Assist in the production of engineering calculations and drawings under supervision of senior engineers.
  • Support post-design construction activities by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, or complex construction activities.
  • Provides support for other engineering activities as required.
