Is this position remote or in-person?
This is not a remote position; it is based in our Atlanta, Midtown office.
What kind of projects will the Electrical Engineering Intern work on?
The intern will work on a wide variety of projects, including photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and solar/energy projects with a focus on battery storage and PV.
What academic qualifications are required for this internship?
Candidates must be in the process of receiving an ABET accredited Electrical Engineering Degree, either at the Bachelor's or Master's level.
What types of tasks will the intern be responsible for?
The intern will assist with technical specification and report writing, conduct electrical equipment cost research, utilize technical software programs, solve complex problems, and collaborate across disciplines.
Will the intern gain exposure to relevant regulations?
Yes, the intern will develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our clients’ practices, procedures, and standards.
What software skills are required for this position?
The intern should be comfortable utilizing technical software programs to analyze, produce, and provide quality control on deliverables for clients.
