  • A basic understanding of electrical test equipment & electrical measurements;
  • Communication skills being able to communicate confidently to internal and possibly external customers;
  • Able to work autonomously in a proactive and responsible manner.
  • Problem solving and communication skills;
  • Previous use of electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes & multi-meters.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in producing procedures and work instructions from test requirements;
  • Experience of quality processes such as document/software configuration processes;
  • Space / Aerospace experience;
  • Clean room experience; Knowledge of Java programming.

Responsibilities

  • - This individual is responsible for preparation and deployment of test equipment for the electrical & thermal test phases of the project life-cycle. These may include any or all of the following.
  • - Design of validation harness and equipment for the validation of the products and test equipment.
  • - The configuration and validation of payload Synoptic (MIMIC’s) using bespoke Payload Mimics software.
  • - Responsible for the preparation, setup and validation of test systems involved in the payload electrical test activities, this includes: the build and software setup and system validation of the Eurostar Neo control rack; the setup of the electrical integration test software, the setup of thermal monitoring test set (“TMACE” rack or equivalent); The preparation and deployment of the Neo block desk consoles; the setup and validation of the payload power supply unit (PPSU).
  • - Support of the above activities during the operational test phase.
  • - Check performance of payload equipment against parameters detailed in test requirements and review results for non-conformances.
  • - The role requires the Electrical Engineer to take ownership for specific Process Improvement actions (normally associated to tangible deliverables such as new test solutions or new processes/new methods); the Electrical Engineer is expected to take part in the Open Innovation process of Airbus DS and more particularly take ownership for any Research and Development action placed on the Electrical test team. This applies to Technological or Industrial Innovations.
  • - Quality is a priority of the AIT department, the Electrical Engineer is instrumental in making sure we are delivering ‘right first time’ inputs to the clean room and in making sure that non-quality during preparation and operations is closely monitored and acted on.
  • - The Electrical Engineer is versatile with working in a complex multiple stakeholders’ environment. The individual is expected to be a good communicator, proactive in problem solving and potentially customer facing.
  • - The role might occasionally involve periods of support of test operations in the clean room where the Electrical Engineer will integrate the team of RF Test Technicians and provide support to projects on the shop floor, possibly joining the shift rota; The role is mostly expected to be on normal days (core hours + flex).
