  • This internship position will support the Energy Efficiency Division in its work on the Commonwealth’s recently updated building energy codes and the development of building retrofit guidelines designed to achieve decarbonization outcomes.

  • Interest in building energy and policy
  • Coursework in engineering or architecture
  • Good analytical skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office- particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Research experience
  • Knowledge of building energy modeling and HVAC systems is a plus

  • Assist in the development of educational materials related to the updated building energy codes to facilitate code understanding by building developers and others
  • Conduct research to support the development of building retrofit guidelines
  • Develop a system to manage and respond to constituent inquires relating to building energy code
  • Participate in division internal and external meetings
