Description

  • As a Structural Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to assist in the management and design of capital projects aimed at launching new technologies, standards, design capabilities, infrastructure upgrades, automation enhancements or supply chain innovations. In addition, students will have opportunities to visit manufacturing facilities and vendor sites and become an integral part of a cross-functional team aimed at supporting a growing business. For this internship, you will use your Structural Engineering program studies and apply them to manufacturing challenges with the goal to expand your skillset and make a genuine impact.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor or Master of Structural Engineering degree program
  • For students pursuing a Bachelor's degree, you must be entering into at least your junior year in fall 2024 to be eligible for consideration

  • Assist in preparation of documentation, design and specifications for new project submittals
  • Develop project reporting capabilities and dashboards related to cost, assets, schedule and deliverables
  • Participate in oversight of project risk analysis and mitigation, change management, scope adherence and stakeholder management
  • Support and maintain standardized application of project management workflows, methodologies and quality across active projects
  • Monitor and track equipment installation and construction activities related to capital project execution
  • Perform gap analyses and employ continuous improvement and lean manufacturing concepts to inform decisions regarding selection of hardware and devices, instrumentation and software for potential factory integration
  • Assist in research and development of new technologies and applicable testing, assessment and implementation steps
  • Develop technical skills in various manufacturing processes and engineering programs to provide support across functions
